Nitric Oxide-Releasing NO–Curcumin Hybrid Inhibits Colon Cancer Cell Proliferation and Induces Cell Death In Vitro

چکیده

Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, and most the currently available drugs for cancer treatment have limited potential. Natural products their relatives continue to represent very high percentage used treatment. Curcumin one several natural that has recently attracted much attention due its putative cancer-preventive anticancer properties. As well, Nitric Oxide (NO) holds great potential NO-based treatments wide variety diseases. Here, first time, we tested anti-cancer activities an NO–Curcumin hybrid, hypothesizing by joining effects curcumin NO in compound, hybrid compound would be more potent than alone treating colon cancer. To compare NO–curcumin, treated different cell lines with either or NO–curcumin on proliferation death. Our results show effective reducing increasing when compared curcumin. In addition, lower IC50 Altogether, our demonstrate time activity alone, making it future perhaps other

Nitric oxide induces cyclooxygenase expression and inhibits cell growth in colon cancer cell lines.

The role of nitric oxide (NO) in colon cancer remains controversial. Inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) has been reported to be up regulated and down regulated in colorectal cancer in both animal models and patient tissue samples. Cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) is important in colorectal carcinogenesis but its relationship with NO has never been studied in colon cancer. Three colon cancer cell li...

Genistein Induces Apoptosis and Inhibits Proliferation of HT29 Colon Cancer Cells

Soybean isoflavone genistein has multiple anticancer properties and its pro-apoptotic and anti-proliferative effects have been studied in different cancer cells. However, the mechanisms of action of genistein and its molecular targets on human colon cells have not been fully elucidated. Therefore, caspase-3 and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38 MAPK) as the main therapeutic targets...

Gallic Acid Inhibits Proliferation and Induces Apoptosis in Lymphoblastic Leukemia Cell Line (C121)

AbstractLeukemia is known as the world’s fifth most prevalent cancer. New cytotoxic drugs have created considerable progress in the treatment, but side effects are still the important cause of mortality. Plant derivatives have been recently considered as important sources for the treatment of various diseases, including cancer. Gallic acid (GA) is a polyhydroxyphenolic compound with a wide rang...

miR-506 inhibits cell proliferation and invasion by targeting TET family in colorectal cancer

Objective(s): Ten-eleven translocation (TET) family members have been shown to be involved in the development of many tumors. However, the biological role of the TET family and its mechanism of action in colorectal carcinogenesis and progression remain poorly understood. Materials and Methods:We measured the expression levels of TET family members in colorectal cancer (CRC) specimens, in the c...

Nitric oxide induces cell death in Taxus cells.

Sodium nitroprusside (SNP), a nitric oxide donor, or centrifugation at 150 times unit gravity, caused a nitric oxide burst in oocyte-derived Taxus brevifolia haploid cultures. This burst, visualized by the specific fluorescent probe 4,5-diaminofluorescein diacetate (DAF-2 DA), preceded a significant increase in nuclear DNA fragmentation and cell death. DNA fragmentation was detected in situ by ...
